This is a very fine set of white wood stacking boxes by T Barton. The label is in the top of the first box that has a geometric stickware design to the exterior. The remainder of the boxes are painted to their tops graduating down to number 18 that is so small that it is frightening to open it, being approximately 2mm in diameter if that. The condition is excellent, with the only imperfection being the second lid with a light crack. It does not impede the design or the aesthetics. The label for T Barton is late Nye, Manufacturer Mount Ephraim and Parade Tunbridge Wells. Nye's will was dated 1862, so the piece is mid-nineteenth century. A wonderful example of turning and design showing outstanding skill and ability of the Barton manufactory.
