Stevengraph entitled “The Good Old Days”. Numbered STG 187 this version has no rural scene behind that the later (STG188) version exhibits. Excellent colouring of the silk, and the mount is clean. One of the most popular Stevengraphs, being a Royal Mail coach pulled by 4 horses, was first issued at the York Exhibition in 1879. This example is on mount type B1 which includes the registration mark top right. This dates the piece to 1880-5. It has the 13 title trade label dated production even more accurately to 2 April 1880.
