The Gems of the Great Exhibition Number 6 (CL No 171) dated 1854. This is the bronze statue by Kiss of an Amazon on horseback spearing a tiger. It went to the Royal Museum in Berlin after the Exhibition. Originally, this print was sold for 3s in common with the other 5 of the series. It was a popular sight at the Exhibition within the Foreign Nave, being of a massive size. The picture was produced from 4 blocks, originally with the book, and later as a an individual print. For some reason it is one of the harder items to find in the series. This is on a Stamped Mount within a verre eglomise glass and gilt decoration – the original framing material. It awaits a selected frame moulding only.
