An unusual Tartanware aide memoire as the many paper pages are mostly unused. There are four entries on the early pages that relate to the owner sponsoring members of the same family when baptised, and the dates given are from 1866 in the original ink handwriting. All the pages have a gilt edge, the end papers are in washed silk, the rear version being in the form of a pocket. There is a sleeve for a pencil. The gilt metal clip is ornate and functions, and the spine is of leather, in very good tight condition, with gilt decoration. The tartan (Cameron) is in excellent condition with two minor scuffs. A wonderful example and survivor of the Tartanware art.
