A pretty Tangram puzzle in Tunbridgeware box. Much of the mystery of doing the puzzle has gone now since a search on the internet will tell you how to do it. However, that is also a good check to see that all the pieces are there. This rosewood based box has the Barton star pattern with lovely wood colours to the top. It is not decorated to the sides. In lovely condition, there is a slight age dried line to the field panel, but all the tesserae are present. Attribution of these small pieces is very hard but it would date to about 1870-80.
