A picture entitled Scotch Cottage in the Trossacks by Robert Clarkson. Clarkson lived in Huggate, Pocklington, and Scarborough. He was born in 1853, and died 1924. He is best known for his landscapes in oils. He studied at York School of Art, and at RA schools, exhibiting widely throughout the country including the RA.This image has the title and his signature au verso, and was clearly one of his later works as it also states that it was completed in Scarborough. Mounted and framed within a rope effect gilt moulding.
