“Forget-me-nots” by Abraham Le Blond (LB 107 CL 121). Until 1865 Le Blond’s work was limited to the size of the ovals, but from then to 1868 he produced 9 subjects of a size part way between the ovals and Baxter’s larger works. Like most of the remainder this one is signed “Le Blond & Co, London. LA Elliot & Co Boston US” in the bottom right as depicted in the pictures. They were all un-mounted, and this one was taken from a painting by A Durer Lucas, a Southampton flower painter. The detail is fine, with the church steeple in the distance and the couple on a fallen tree. It was printed from 18 blocks. This is a fine copy showing Le Blonds’ expertise.
