A set of four hand coloured prints by Harbour with the subjects: Period Directoire “Well In Hand”, Early Victorian “A Rosy Ruse”, Period Directoire “A Walk Down The Mall”, and Early Victorian “My Lady’s Kerchief”. Produced by Raphael Tuck & Sons Ltd London these are “hand printed facsimiles” (as stated on bottom left, reproduced from earlier images, and the plate mark is clearly visible. Review of the process indicates them to be tone photogravures, and their resemblance to the aquatint makes them “aquatint photogravures”, and they can be dated to 1870 through to the turn of the century. There is an embossed stamp bottom left repeated on each image within the plate mark. The original Fine Art Trade Guild label is on the original wood backing. The framers, F Casson of 20 Bond Street, Hull, were active for a very short time (1905-15). Currently unframed but each with the original labelled back boards.
