A beautiful caddy spoon made in the “stickware” or “inlaid turnery” fashion. This particular example displays minimal decoration, with just one stickware piece to the base of the bowl. It is difficult to attribute this type of smaller piece as many manufactories produced them. Thomas Barton (1819-1903) introduced the star design, but of course it was then used by others. Dated to about 1870. Bowl is 3 cms across. The base wood is ebony.
