Full Length Silhouette - Lady

A well executed full length silhouette heightened in gold of a lady with her book. The dress and the hair style permits accurate dating to 1842-3 (see illustrations in Sue McKechnie’s excellent reference (no 564). This is a cut silhouette on card, and the large sleeves, shortish ringlets, centre parting, and smooth fall of hair (The Second Style), with the heel-less shoes all assist dating. Framed in a walnut moulding it is a lovely item.
