A very unusual circular framed silhouette on glass within a mock Hogarth frame moulding, probably original. The chain and other neck decoration were worn in the period to 1850, but the dress design and hair fashion indicates a date for the piece to be about 1820. It is backed with plaster (silk rear shrouds were also often used). It is an unattributed piece that is excellently executed.
