Baxter Prints
George Baxter (1804-1867) patented a process of colour printing in 1835. It was this process that made up his life's work, producing many images for book illustrations as well as stand alone prints. The success of the technical process as well as the subjects represented which reflect Victorian life are the two main reasons for interest in his work. There are numerous reference books to assist us, most of which are out of print. The stock shown here is only the unframed prints, the framed items being shown at Fairs. If you have any requests for reference books or prints please contact me. If a picture is framed then this will be notified in the detail relating to the item, and you are asked to note the additional nominal charge for despatch.
